Memory of a Sunday Afternoon...

My memory that includes the entire family is of Sunday afternoons. I remember all of us driving out to the desert to look at flowers. I don't remember how long we stayed out there, or what we really did, but I remember loving it, and I remember we did it a lot.
(Twice would be considered a lot for a 4 year old)

Must have been after my time. My car memories are driving to Grandma Thomas's house in the Suburban, without seatbelts. The good ole days.

Driving to Grandma's house in the very back of the suburban and making faces at the people behind us.

I remember going out with the motorhome. I loved laying on the bed over the drivers seat, looking out the window in anticipation of moving, and when it finally happens, it's the coolest feeling in the world. However, I also remember going to the desert without the motorhome because I remember mom taking me out to go pee pee. You know, the old "pull down the pants around the ankles while mom braces you against her, holding your feet in the air, trying to avoid getting soaked". Yeah. I also remember taking model airplanes out there. Good times.

It's ok, Linnea, I appreciated the detail. Doesn't it sometimes feel like you're reliving your childhood now that you have kids!?
I remember going out to see the wild desert poppies on Sundays in the spring. I remember bringing Cookie and letting her run around and watching the sun set.

How come I don't remember this. I remember everything else but the flower looking. Now chasing rainbows, I remeber, but flowers?
Does dad ever read these, we need his comments. He is part of this family!
