Murder Trial

Not something that happens every day, but yesterday April and I attended a murder trial.  April's sister was the one who found the victim and testified at the trial.  April and I went with her so that she was not alone.  It was very interesting to watch.  Mimi did great and we are all glad that it is over.

Not the greatest photo, but this news guy was there.   I forget his name.  I think he did an interview with the murderer and was there to follow up.  He was incredibly short.  We are talking 5' 0" short!

Logan's Basketball Team

Logan's Jr. High Basketball team competed in a tournament in Tempe this weekend.  They took 1st place.  The team they beat in the finals is just ending their season and is undefeated.  Logan's team is just starting their season.  I have a feeling that they will go undefeated this season.  They scored twice as many points as the other teams in every game except the last one.  Logan is doing great and enjoying being on a winning team!

Logan & Brent's Big Day

Logan had an orchestra concert tonight.  He is playing a 3/4 bass.  This is the size that most adult bass players play.  I think he will be playing a full size bass in a year or two.  He is already 6' 2" tall.

He had already put the bass away so we didn't get a shot of him holding it.

Today was also a fun day for me.  I got to give 2 shots to another student.  The first one was just under the top layer of skin - called an intradermal injection.  The second one was below the skin but before the muscle - called a subcutaneous injection.  Sadly we won't be giving any shots into the muscle at nursing school.  We might get to do these in a few weeks when we start our long term care at the nursing home.  We are assigned a patient and we take care of them and do everything a nurse would to.  Medications, dressings, bathing, bathroom doootie, etc.  Not looking forward to that last one!  Here is a photo of my first subcutaneous injection.

I've been told that the bald guy is me.

Decisions, Decisions.

So today as Logan and I were finishing our fast offering route, we passed by our mailbox and I decided to check it. Inside was a letter from ASU.

The letter congratulated me on being accepted into the Fall 2012 semester nursing program at the Downtown Campus. The letter was supposed to come next week so I was a little surprised to find it there. I have a grin on my face right now because there is a guy in my ward who works at ASU as a nurse that told me that I had no chance of getting in because it is too competitive. I am getting ready for church now an I plan on taking this letter along. :)

This week I need to decide on which school I will be attending. ASU wants a firm commitment by the end of the week and GCU has not given me a firm commitment yet, nor have they given me details on the cost of their school and the scholarships they will offer.

Life is good.
